Having first visited on 3/5/24 I was told by the consultant that I was to be booked in for an urgent ultrasound scan of my knee and a further appointment was made for 10/5/24. I attended this appointment and due to not receiving a scan another has been made for 24/5/24 in the hopes I receive my urgent scan. I actually rang the scan office to be told that a consultant needs to put urgent within 2 weeks if he wants a scan done quickly. I have managed to book one for the 22/5/24 but had I not rung it would be after my appointment again! This scan is no longer offered at Bassetlaw so on top of the £40 round trip taxi fares to Worksop I now have a £70 round trip taxi fare to Doncaster to look forward to. Merging these hospitals has clearly made it difficult for the consultants to provide the care they wish to give.
I didn't have to wait long and appreciated has in a lot of pain with my on-going shoulder problem. I was transferred to urgent care department .
Even though the procedure was not very nice the staff were very friendly and tried to calm my nerves.
Good promt service..not kept waiting and a good positive outcome after speaking which the Doctor...a couple of days later we received a call giving us a cancellation
Long waiting time:
Arrived at DRI at 2300, was in severe pain, asked receptionist whilst being booked in if I could recieve pain relief, didn't recieve any, was then asked to sit and wait to be assessed by triage nurse, around 30 minutes later was assessed by triage nurse and asked again for pain relief, was told yes but didn't receive any. Around 20 minutes later was asked to go through to A and E and take a seat, couldn't sit down due to pain so laid on the floor and waited for over an hour before bloods were taken, asked again for pain relief, was told yes but again recieved none, then was told to sit again and wait for results, at 0530 was assessed by the doctor, at this point the pain had subsided and all doctore could offer was omaezaprozol on a drip. I asked the doctor why no pain relief was given when needed, he said it should have been . I am absolutely disgusted and even more concerned that a so called health service would leave a person in severe pain, even when the person has asked repeatedly for relief, I am seriously concerned what would happen to someone significantly weaker than myself would have been in the same situation, its obvious standards have fallen to a level where the staff have lost all compassion and care in administration care to patients, shame on you. I dont expect any positive to come out of this feedback, are you familiar with the saying ' a fish rots from the head, not the tail', however I am very interested to hear back from you.
I suffer very bad from health anxiety all of the staff made me feel so at ease thank you
Because at the time it was
Staff were superb but the system is diabolical l have cancer and in severe pain l find it difficult to stand or sit so l have to lie down to ease the pain on two occasions last weekend 3rd May and 6th May l was forced to sit in a and e for 8 hours each time waiting for a bed even though l said l would stay in my own bed until a bed became available but was told due to protocol l had to sit and wait in a and e disgraceful
Looked after and made better my little baby boy
I booked in at 22.10hrs. In chronic pain and was told I would receive morphine shortly. 3 hours later I had to ask for the morphine. Which I eventually got.
My 1st observations, BP, etc, were taken 4 hours after arriving. And the Health care assistant made 4 attempts to take bloods. Butchering my hands and arms in the process. And failed. She stated she would get a nurse to do them.
She forgot and 2 hours later at 04:00hrs I asked the receptionist to contact a nurse to take my bloods. A Dr called me and took bloods at 04.30hrs. I was called to see Dr around 6.30am and discharged. After 8.5 hours.
